Vionnet bias cut dress
I love dresses based on Vionnet's patterns. This one is supposed to have a beautiful train which I had to cut because it was too long. I wanted a summer frock with a little hint of bohemian that I could wear with flat sandals.
This is how the original dress by Vionnet looks:
I think satin or similar (the same weight and density) fabrics are ideal for this model. My variation is from a weightless rayon-polyester blend with a wrinkled effect.
Trying to improve the proportions I experimented a lot with the length of the frock. I got so far that I ended up with a nice blouse... And I think the top from this fabric feels more comfortable and looks better than a dress. See about it in my next post.
