A top inspired by Vionnet
The story about this top started in my previous post.
I added a hand stitched decor on the front with a handmade cord and filled some spaces with a "french knot" embroidery.
As the bias cut top was already finished before decoration it was not so easy to embellish the front of it. The dress form was very helpful for stretching the fabric. Here is the pattern and some pictures of the process.
The "cord" is made with the help of a sewing machine (zigzag stitch with metallic thread). I left raw edges of the stripes on purpose because altogether with the crashed fabric it gave the blouse a shabby, antique look.
